Pharmacists trained in toxicology will discuss the only clinically significant scorpion (Centruroides sculpturatus [Bark scorpion]) envenomations in the southwestern United States; specifically Arizona. Basic behavior descriptions of scorpions: active times of the year, how/when they are encountered, preventative measures. Emphasis on treatments of scorpion envenomations: pre-hospital first aid, monitoring, labs, antivenom.
